Press On!

Philippians 1:3-6
3I thank my God every time I remember you. 4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Just recently, I fought back and forth about if I should pick up on my Novel again or leave it alone for a while and not pursue publication. I wrote it about a year ago. I can't count how many publishing houses I sent it to- only to get a nice rejection letter from them. I've even had some publishers give me good reason for their rejection. In the Publishing business, I hear that's actually a good thing. Well, it didn't feel "good" to me so I decided to put my Novel to the side and leave it alone. I was growing weary and coming to the conclusion that I am NOT a good fiction writer and maybe I should just leave that part of writing for the experts.

Well, I had a revelation the other day. I thought to myself I just can't let this thing beat me, I have to press on!

This is truly a huge challenge for me. Who wants to really beat challenges all the time? Can't the things in life just be easy? After I asked myself those questions, the Lord revealed something to me... He who created a work in me, will be faithful to complete it.

With all of my heart I believe God wanted me to write this Novel. Yes, I can be a successful story teller. The message behind this book is extremely powerful and I'm sure will stimulate its readers to trust the Lord. So, I couldn't just leave it for the birds. I simply revisited my 400 page manuscript and said, "Ok Lord, I'm going to do this. I'm going to Press On!"

And so I have...and so can you.

I want to encourage you with something today. Everything is not going to be easy. Sometimes you have to put extra hard work into things- blood, sweat and tears. But, the results will pay off. I am a testimony of that. With my first book "Simply Wisdom: Tid Bits of Inspiration for Your Journey" I had slight doubts about how it would reach people. But since it's publication, I've been getting the most amazing feedback from its readers!

Press On! Keep Moving Forward! And, Keep trusting that He who completed a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it!
